About
A scenic lakeside town on the shores of Lake Victoria in Nyatike Sub-County. Known as the "Miami of Migori County," Muhuru Bay is famous for white sandy shores, fresh water fishing, and growing eco-tourism activities.

Mission

“To develop world-class eco-tourism infrastructure, support the fishing industry, provide quality urban services and preserve the unique natural environment of Muhuru Bay for present and future generations.”

Key Objectives
1 Develop eco-tourism infrastructure including beach facilities and accommodation
2 Support the fishing industry through fish landing sites and value addition facilities
3 Construct and maintain the Muhuru Bay-Migori road to bitumen standard
4 Improve water supply, sanitation and solid waste management
5 Promote Muhuru Bay as a tourism destination nationally and internationally
6 Protect Lake Victoria ecosystems from pollution and illegal fishing
